Strengthening scientific computing capabilities at CeBER
The Centre for Business and Economics Research (CeBER), at the University of Coimbra, has been strengthening and modernizing its scientific computing infrastructure, with the aim of ensuring better support conditions for its research activities.
In this context, and within the scope of project UID/PRR2/05037/2025, funded by FCT under the PRR, by the Government of Portugal and the European Union, Inforlandia was responsible for supplying a technological solution designed to meet these needs.
The solution integrates an INSYS Tower by SMC server, equipped with 2x Xeon Gold 6526Y, 512 GB of ECC memory, 1.92 TB M.2 and 1x 8 TB of storage, accompanied by a Riello SDH 3000VA/2700W UPS. This configuration ensures a robust infrastructure, with high processing capacity, dedicated storage and greater operational resilience.
In addition to the installed technical capacity, the online double-conversion UPS adds an additional level of protection, ensuring clean and stable power, as well as continuity of operation in the event of electrical failures or disturbances.
With this solution, CeBER now has a more reliable, stable technological foundation prepared to meet the demands of scientific research, strengthening its ability to carry out activities in a secure environment with greater operational availability.
